- Wander through the South Melbourne or Queen Victoria markets. South Melbourne’s dim sims are to die for and Queen Victoria’s stalls are ideal for souvenirs.
- Café-hop. With numerous graffiti-lined lanes boasting gorgeous baked goods and superb coffee, spend the day sampling treats across the town!
- Sky-dive your way to a perfect landing on Elwood’s foreshore fields. The view of Port Phillip Bay will be breathtaking…literally!
- Walk or jog the 5km track around Albert Park. Bring a picnic for the end and enjoy the lake-front city views.
- Laze away the day soaking up the sun in the city’s botanic gardens. Bring a book and hunker down for the afternoon.
- Enjoy an hour of happiness. There’s no shortage of bars and pubs in Melbourne, usually packed to the brim on a warm spring day. Find your local happy hour and snag a seat on the patio.
- Take a stroll down Chapel Street for shopping, eating, drinking or style-watching. Chapel Street never ceases to amuse.
- Discover Abbotsford Convent. It’s got markets, amazing vegetarian food, live music and gorgeous river-front property to explore.
- Go for a hike in the Dandenong Ranges. The fresh spring air makes the city feel like a distant memory.
- Take the ferry from St.Kilda to Williamstown.
- Ride your bike along the Yarra River from the city.
- Check out the Healesville Sanctuary. An hour drive from Melbourne transports you to a beautiful country town with an excellent sanctuary filled with famous Aussie creatures.
- Throw another shrimp on the barbie! In many parks and beaches around Melbourne there’s communal BBQ’s to cook up an outdoor sausage sizzle.
- Discover a new suburb by driving or getting on a train with no real destination. There are many interesting suburbs in this city, each one unique and with its own characteristics and charm.
- Go kite-surfing in St. Kilda. Wetsuit required…it’s not quite summer yet!
- Go on a photo expedition. With the quirky art, modern and historic architecture, and eclectic communities, walk, bike or drive through the city and try to capture Melbourne through a lens.
- Hang out in Federation Square. It’s always a hub of activity and great for people watching.
- Explore the Docklands. This up and coming section of the city is now alive with activity. Take a stroll around the area packed with café’s, restaurants and gorgeous city and bridge views.
- Find a local food or artist market. There’s too many to name but St. Kilda’s Esplanade market on Sundays is a favorite amongst locals and tourists
